6-24-09:UPDATE...
It appears that we may soon be back in business and files will once again be available due to the kindness of a mysterious benefactor. Stay tuned...

2-28-09: Due to circumstances beyond our control,
all audio files have been temporarily removed. Apparently there were some issues involving the huge numbers of people from all over the globe downloading, listening to & enjoying our finely crafted audiograms overloading the meager resources of our web hosting outfit. As soon as we locate a more amenable hosting service you will be notified in this space. We apologize for the massive disruptions this will cause all across the country...

If you require the latest show, please contact us directly at tom@oddiotirum.com and a copy will be sent to you electronically. Thank you for your continued support of this quality broadcast and organization.

Welcome to The ODDIOTORIUM!

This is the web site related to the soon-to-be-award-winning show heard on KRCB FM on the 2nd and 4th Friday nights from Midnight until 2a.m.

Next Show: June 26th at midnight. The Coffee Show with numerous special guests... not to be missed under any circumstances!

1-24-09: Does anyone know anything about buzzing turntables? I assume it's a grounding problem, but have such a limited view of electronica that it staggers my own imagination. We finally got the new digital delay in line, kind of. We're still trying to figure it out.

12-29-08: A note to let all you dedicated listeners that the Patriot Day show was discovered to have a problem with the balance (i.e. Left vs. Right) so I have redonedid fixed it up. And I recommend it as a fine show. I would also note that the whole "playlist" thing seems to have fallen by the wayside as no one seems to care.

12-10-08: This coming show we will be trying out my new digital delay I just bought. It's in stereo rather than mono & perhaps all the knobs work. (The ancient model can be seen in the photo to the right). It should be the greatest thing that's ever happened in radio, but we'll just have to wait and see. Hope to see you there! And a further note regarding the subject mentioned below: all recordings are now digital from the live feed over the air at the time & point of broadcast, so all problems having to have been solved, please feel free to relax.

We have long been fans of Negativland and Over the Edge, the more or less weekly radio show from KPFA in Berkeley. And as my very own brother has had a long-running and oblong radio show himself, the Darkling Eclectica, appearing every Sunday afternoon from four to six p.m. (though it began in the three to six a.m. slot and was mostly to be found Saturday morning from six to nine a.m.) on KUCI, 88.9FM in Irvine, California, and which I as a youth would to make appearances upon (in the forms of members of Don Hoe and His Band of Favorites or the Month of Sundays Players or other assorted nonsense), it has come to pass that when we began our wild career and would make the journey South to the Homeland we were often burdened down with some of the strange and horrible lps that we find it necessary to "collect." Along the lines of Over the Edge (though perhaps not quite as well-formed or acoustically savvy), we pick a theme and expound upon it in a semi-coherent collagen modality.

For a bit of the philosophy behind this kind of thing that we aspire to, see Don Joyce's essay about Getting Your Own Show.

The famous and oft-misquoted Dr. I. Hindmost preparing his remote broadcast for the Civil War Part Two Show. There were, of course, technical as well as mechanical, philosophical, spiritual, inter-costal, distil et al, difficulties with the field transmission resulting in His non-appearance.

Chief Sub-archivist Special Order, First Class in charge of Computational Musics and Rythmic Detournments "Mickey D" arrives via Videophone™ from his undisclosable location.

Getting ready for the show
Getting all the Oddio Audio "crap" together for the Show. Looks like fun, huh?
